Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault is now out of Early Access. Version 1.0 went live on September 2, bringing the full story, new weapons, a new perk path, Hardcore Mode, and more content to the game. The console versions are also available now.
The main story is now complete, but there is still plenty to do after finishing it.
The Main Story Is Now Complete
Version 1.0 adds the remaining quests and cutscenes needed to finish Will’s story in Tresna.
The new quests reveal more about the Endless Vault and the people living around it. There are also some changes to the world as you get further into the story.
Once the main story is finished, you can move on to the new Infinite Endless Vault.
Infinite Endless Vault Adds More Difficult Runs
The Infinite Endless Vault becomes available after completing the main story.
It has a series of increasingly difficult thresholds. Each one has a gold requirement that you need to hit in a single run. If you fail, your progress on that threshold is reset.
Going further can also unlock new equipment, shop upgrades, decorations, and cosmetics.
Four New Endless Weapons
Version 1.0 adds four new Endless Weapon Aspects:
Shop Level 5 Is Now Available
Your shop can now reach Level 5.
The upgrade adds another Bloblet slot and another cosmetic placement slot, giving you a little more space to customize the shop.
A New Bomb Perk Path
The Bomb Path is another perk path added in Version 1.0.
It lets you mark enemies with an explosive effect. After they take a certain number of attacks, the effect triggers and damages nearby enemies.
This can be useful when dealing with groups and when putting together different perk combinations.
Hardcore Mode Makes Death Much More Punishing
Hardcore Mode is also part of the 1.0 update.
Dying in this mode means losing your progress and starting from the beginning. So a bad run can set you all the way back to the start.
If you want something much less forgiving than the normal game, this mode should do the job.
More Content Added in Version 1.0
There are some other additions in the full release, including:
Physical editions of Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault are also planned for November 13, 2026. There will be a standard boxed edition and a Collector’s Edition with extras such as art cards, patches, a poster, stickers, a metal coin, and a digital artbook.
