Steam has plenty of games worth checking out this month, and we’ve picked out some titles that caught our attention. The list includes smaller games that may have slipped under your radar, along with games that bring something different to the table. We’ve kept the focus on what each game actually does and the details that make it stand out. If you’re looking for something new to play, these Steam games are worth a look.
Aerial_Knight’s MrFreezy

You move, swap, and line up heads in Aerial_Knight’s MrFreezy so they can be cut with one slice. Pumpkin Heads explode if they are not collected in time, and Stone Heads cannot be moved. Old Heads move on their own, while moving Default Heads changes the position of nearby heads. Fewer turns mean choosing between an early cash out or taking extra turns to build a chain. The game also reveals more about the murders and the story behind MrFreezy.
Centuria Quest

In Centuria Quest, you build your party from 12 different hero classes, with each hero able to evolve into one of two subclasses. Battles let you take up to six heroes and require careful positioning and well-timed use of their abilities. Choices between places like the marketplace, forge, campfire, and other encounters can change the direction of each expedition. With 100 stages, multiple modes, and permanent upgrades, every new run gives you a chance to build and play your party in a different way.
Cognition Method

Cognition Method uses mechanics that alter gravity, space, and perception as an important part of its puzzles. Inside the mysterious Artifact, you must find your way through impossible structures, shifting architecture, and silent corridors. Abandoned recordings and fragmented notes found on the space station provide clues about the vanished expedition. Along with the contrast between the bright space station and the cold, minimalistic Artifact, the story explores curiosity and the limits of the human mind.
Critical Descent

Critical Descent lets you pilot the massive Super Heavy booster and agile upper stage through the final moments of flight to stick the landing. Its 75 handcrafted levels require precise maneuvers across different situations, including windy storms and pitch-black nights. Arcade mode has automatic chopsticks and smart throttling, while Simulation mode uses fully manual controls and tighter landing constraints. Landings take place on Earth, the Moon, and Mars, with global leaderboards for comparing your best time with other players.
Little Bettas

Little Bettas lets you pair Bettas and raise new generations while discovering colors, patterns, and rare traits. Aquariums can be decorated with plants, rocks, wood, sand, and aquatic companions. Feeding the fish and keeping their tanks clean are also part of caring for them. Try different breeding combinations to discover new Bettas and build your collection.
Plushy Store Tidy Up

Plushy Store Tidy Up has more than 1,600 plushies to sort across 90+ shelves in one enormous store. Relaxed Mode lets you organize the store however you like, while Challenging Mode requires you to use traits such as color, habitat, plushy type, and food category to find each plushy’s proper place. Completing shelves rewards bulbs that can be used to unlock and upgrade abilities for carrying more plushies, sprinting, the magnet, and jump height. Bringing the three flamingoes back to the fountain is also part of full completion.
Daily Botanica

Every plant starts from a mystery seed and goes through three growth stages, revealing its rarity, native habitat, variation, and identity. Watering the soil, brushing the leaves with the cursor, and discovering a special ritual can give the plant a care bonus. After reaching full bloom, plants can be harvested into the Herbarium, where their name, variation, care history, bond, and memories are preserved. With 137 species and 100 Garden Levels, plants can also be moved, resized, and arranged around your desktop.
Date For Dead

Dating app profiles can be swiped through to chat and go on dates with characters including a vampire filmmaker, minotaur, zombie, and ancient god. Dialogue and actions shape relationships through each interaction and reveal hidden sides of the characters. Some moments repeat in strange ways, while some connections become more complicated than they first seem. Behind it all is another purpose: Victoria is not looking for love, but trying to bring love back.
Shatterswarm

Waves of ever-stronger alien spacecraft from the Voxan Empire attack your colony in Shatterswarm. Command Captain Hope’s ship, rally the fleet, and build defensive networks across strategic nodes. Deploy fighters, bombers, and carriers, upgrade your weapons, and expand the Citadel’s reach. Expanding the defensive network makes the Citadel stronger, but it also creates more targets for the enemy and more resources to manage.
Pitchside Empire

A single five-a-side pitch is at the heart of Pitchside Empire, with customers calling about a Saturday 9pm booking and you quoting the price. Ask too much and a customer may book somewhere else, while asking too little can fill the pitch but leave the till empty. Profits buy changing rooms, showers, a canteen, seating, and floodlights, while pitch surfaces can also be upgraded. One plot holds four pitches, with a manager handling phone calls and deals while cleaners, cooks, attendants, and security affect different parts of customer satisfaction.
Fathom Reach

In Fathom Reach, a deck of cards goes into other players’ underwater bases, where fights happen chamber by chamber. Read each defender’s next move, chain your cards, and break through the defenses to destroy the Pressure-Heart before your hull gives out. Loot from raids pays for building and upgrading a deck from 220 cards across four factions. Place gun-coral and traps in your base, choose its Pressure-Heart, publish it, and check the defense reports to see how visitors fared.
Harvest Them

Kingdom crowds are swept aside in Harvest Them for what they are worth: coins, blood, and souls, while knights and paladins are sent to stop you. Each of the 42 weapons is carried by a named boss. After defeating the boss, the broken weapon is taken from the corpse and repaired at the anvil. Between harvests, what you collect goes into an upgrade grid with 117 nodes and 548 ranks, along with 12 permanent artifacts. In boss fights, the King fills a 3×3 section of the field, and his court must be cut down to open a window for attacking him.
ZOMBIE Disaster Drill

ZOMBIE Disaster Drill simulates a zombie disaster through disaster drills set in different situations. At a school, hospital, and shopping mall, everyday items such as a broom, trash can, and wheelchair are used to deal with zombies. The click-based controls are simple, with no complex controls needed. Progressing through the challenges increases your disaster manuals and deepens your knowledge of zombie disasters.
Grand Vista Hotel

Grand Vista Hotel transforms a small family hotel into a luxury Palace through new floors, upgraded rooms, and services. Guest queues, elevator traffic, room availability, staffing, and facility coverage need to be managed while balancing growth, efficiency, and cost. Restaurants, gyms, conference floors, spas, an Event Hall, and a casino can be built to attract guests and increase income. After earning five stars, reaching Palace status adds a permanent 10% income bonus to future playthroughs, with the bonus stacking after each completed Palace run. This is currently the demo version, while the full game is coming soon.
ApocalypseHQ

After the zombie outbreak, ApocalypseHQ has you leading a survivor headquarters, with each turn representing one day and food, water, fuel, and other limited resources to manage. Farms, water purification facilities, power plants, hospitals, and research labs can be built in secured territories after clearing their infected population and assigning workers and specialists. Survivors can be trained as workers or soldiers and formed into squads with named commanders for supply raids and missions to secure new territory beyond the perimeter. The research lab can handle only one project at a time, while choice events can change resources, personnel, and facility conditions.
Go! Super Awesome Monkey!

In Go! Super Awesome Monkey!, SAM saves the world from AI Tech Overlords while collecting pizza slices, coins, and floppy discs. Moves such as spinning, dashing, slamming, double jumping, wall jumping, and gliding can be strung together as combos. The game has 100+ levels across 10 worlds, with secrets in every level, accessories to customize SAM, and new skills to obtain by saving spritelings. The demo includes leaderboards for the first two worlds, where you can compete against other players.
God, Save the Queens!

The King of Provia’s five daughters must be rescued from Zaharad and his army of thousands of enemies. Completing waves earns rewards for unlocking and upgrading powerful weapons and skills, with up to 5 weapons and 10 skills available in a single run. Each rescued queen grants a random special effect, while defeating elite bosses lets you reach the next empire. Five unique empires, 180+ collectibles, and 8 Curse levels are included, with higher levels giving more rewards and unlocking extra skill and weapon slots.
Skyscraper Security: Zombie Rain Demo

The neon district faces infected falling from the sky in a seven-wave demo operation. Choose Skyguard, Breacher, or Deadeye and fight with a rifle, shotgun, or hand cannon while using Focus, Dash, and projectile parrying. Drones use the Rescue Grid to catch falling humans, while SS Coins and Bio-Samples are collected for grid, district, and Level-Up upgrades. The demo ends with the final assault on Wave 7, while the original full game is coming soon with all four Defender classes, 15 waves, alternate doctrines, and the Scraper boss.
Museum 8

After the museum closes, a one-way corridor keeps leading back to the same hall, but sometimes the hall is not exactly as you left it. Looking through the camera’s viewfinder can show things that are no longer there when you lower the camera. Choosing the right door depends on remembering the space itself rather than checking a list. The playtime is 15 to 60 minutes, with repeating architecture and doubt following every second look.
Shadows of Christmas Eve

During the Christmas season, a young woman investigates the strange events happening in her house while dealing with years of constant exhaustion and strange nightmares. Looking into her family’s past and the secrets hidden within the house uncovers fragments of a forgotten story. Notes, strange messages, and subtle details may be the only way to understand what is happening. As the nightmare grows deeper, familiar places begin to change, and what you see cannot always be trusted.
