EA Sports FC 27 developers have shared an early look at what they are working on for The Grounds and Clubs after looking at player feedback and activity since launch.
Small-sided football has been getting plenty of attention in The Grounds, with players spending time in 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 and In-World Rush. That popularity has created another problem, though: some of the other activities, especially Kickabouts, can struggle to get enough players into a match.
EA says it is now looking at several ways to make those activities easier to join while also responding to other feedback from FC 27 players.
EA Is Exploring a Winner Stays Feature

One of the requests coming from players is a Winner Stays system that would let the winning team remain on the pitch and build a win streak.
According to EA, some players and streamers are already keeping track of their own streaks. The development team is now looking at ways to support that type of competition directly inside The Grounds.
Potential designs are already being explored, but EA has not confirmed when or if the feature will be added. More information will be shared once the plans become more concrete.
Kickabout Matchmaking Could Change
Kickabouts are another area EA is looking at.
The problem isn’t the matches themselves. EA says players who manage to get a Kickabout going are enjoying them, but finding enough people to start a match can be difficult.
The team is considering several options to deal with this. One idea would let players signal that they need more people at a particular gameplay site. Another would connect players from different servers while keeping them in the same world.
EA is also considering scheduled Kickabout events that could bring more players into these activities at the same time.
None of these options has been confirmed as a final solution yet.
Long-Term Fatigue Returns to Clubs 11v11
The Grounds Menus Are Also Being Investigated
Other issues are still being investigated or tested, including incorrect Archetype Point costs, erratic 1v1 goalkeepers, teleport access to Stadium and Clubhouse portals, incorrect preferred positions in 11v11 drop-in matches, problems opening the world map while queued, and the map input opening the Season Pass.
More FC 27 Grounds and Clubs Updates Are Planned
EA says this is still the early stage for The Grounds. The development team plans to keep looking at player activity and feedback as more people spend time in the mode.
A dedicated Grounds & Clubs Q&A is also planned for the official EA SPORTS FC Discord, although the date and time have not been announced yet.
For now, the biggest changes being explored include a possible Winner Stays system, better ways to fill Kickabout matches, and further work on Clubs and The Grounds. Some of these ideas are still being tested, so EA could change or drop them before they reach the game.
