Boruto fans have been waiting for Naruto Uzumaki’s return for a very long time, and now it finally seems like that moment is slowly getting closer. Naruto was officially sealed away in Boruto Chapter 77, which released in January 2023. Since then, he has remained absent from the story, but the latest developments in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex have once again created excitement among fans.
After the conclusion of the Mamushi arc, the story is now shifting its focus back toward Jura and the remaining powerful Shinju villains. Because of this, the chances of Naruto’s return are starting to look much stronger.
Jura Is Now Focused on Naruto
When Boruto: Two Blue Vortex first began, Naruto was still sealed inside the Daikokuten dimension. At that point, his return seemed very far away because Kawaki had hidden him away for protection. However, the situation changed when Jura discovered that Naruto was still alive.
Now Jura’s entire focus appears to be shifting toward Naruto Uzumaki. This is not just a normal target for him, as Jura seems deeply obsessed with Naruto’s ideals and personality. The story explains that Jura wants to understand the concept of love, and Naruto is considered the perfect representation of it.
Naruto was the one who first showed Kawaki kindness and care after saving him from Jigen. Because of this, Jura’s interest in Naruto has become even more dangerous.
The Stakes Have Increased for Kawaki
Jura targeting Naruto is not only dangerous for Naruto himself, but it also plays a major role in Kawaki’s character development. Kawaki sealed Naruto away to protect him from Otsutsuki threats. But now, a powerful enemy like Jura is actively searching for him.
Because of this situation, Kawaki will need to become even stronger. The upcoming arc could heavily focus on his emotional and personal struggles. At the same time, Jura is being built up as an even more dangerous villain who could make the future storyline far more intense.
When Could Naruto Return?
So far, creators Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto have not confirmed an official return date for Naruto. However, based on the current storyline, fans believe his comeback is now much closer than before.
There are currently two possible directions for the story. The first is that both Jura and Hidari are defeated in the next arc, leading directly to Naruto’s return. The second possibility is that Hidari falls first while the final focus shifts entirely to Jura, after which Naruto officially returns to the story.
Based on the average length of Boruto arcs, fans may still have to wait around 30 chapters before Naruto finally comes back.
Sasuke’s Return May Also Happen
Alongside Naruto, the chances of Sasuke Uchiha returning are also increasing. Right now, Sasuke remains trapped in Tree form, and Hidari was created using his DNA. If Hidari is defeated, Sasuke’s return could officially become possible as well.
Fans believe Sasuke could return within the next 10 to 15 chapters, which would make the Boruto storyline even more exciting. The possibility of both Naruto and Sasuke returning has greatly increased fan excitement.
New Boruto Chapter Release Date
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 34 is officially scheduled to release on May 20, 2026. The new arc will place greater focus on Jura and Hidari’s storyline, making the theory of Naruto’s return feel even stronger.
