One of the most anticipated games in the gaming world, Grand Theft Auto 6, is once again making headlines. For a long time, fans were worried that GTA 6 might face another delay. However, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has now officially confirmed that the game’s release date remains unchanged.
According to him, GTA 6 is still scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, and there are currently no plans for another delay. This update came during a recent earnings call where he also discussed the game’s future plans and pre-orders.
GTA 6 Has Already Faced Two Major Delays
When Rockstar Games officially announced GTA 6 in late 2023, excitement among fans instantly skyrocketed. However, the game was later delayed twice.
The most recent delay was announced in November 2025, when Rockstar officially pushed the release date to November 19, 2026. Because of this, many fans feared that another delay could happen, especially due to Rockstar’s recent silence.
But Strauss Zelnick’s latest statement has reassured the community.
Take-Two CEO Rejects Delay Rumors
While speaking to Bloomberg on May 21, Strauss Zelnick confirmed that GTA 6’s current release date is final. He also stated that the game’s pre-orders will begin very soon.
During the interview, he was also asked about the Best Buy leak that claimed GTA 6 pre-orders would begin in mid-May 2026. Zelnick dismissed the rumor and said he had no idea where the information came from.
According to him, no official timing has been shared yet.
When Could GTA 6 Pre-Orders Begin?
Strauss Zelnick also shared an important hint. He explained that Rockstar usually opens pre-orders when the company starts its full-scale marketing campaign.
Take-Two has repeatedly stated that GTA 6’s marketing campaign will officially begin during Summer 2026. Because of this, many now believe that pre-orders could open anytime between late June and September 2026.
Fans are also expecting Rockstar to release the game’s third trailer soon, which could become a major part of the upcoming marketing campaign.
GTA 6’s Third Trailer Could Reveal Gameplay
The first two GTA 6 trailers mainly focused on introducing the game’s world, characters, and setting. However, fans now expect the third trailer to finally reveal gameplay footage.
According to reports and community expectations, players may get their first look at the game’s HUD, character-switching system, and other gameplay mechanics.
Rockstar will likely still keep some surprises hidden, but the first proper gameplay reveal could become the biggest highlight for fans.
GTA 6 Online May Be Revealed Later
The multiplayer mode of GTA 6, considered the successor to GTA Online, may be revealed separately closer to launch.
Something similar happened with GTA 5. GTA Online was officially teased several months after GTA 5 pre-orders had already started.
Based on that pattern, many believe GTA 6 Online may not be revealed before Fall 2026.
GTA 6 Will Launch Only on Consoles
Rockstar has currently confirmed that GTA 6 will launch only on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S at release.
No official PC version has been announced yet. However, based on Rockstar’s past release history, experts believe the PC version could arrive one or two years after the console launch.
