ARC Raiders is getting a free play period ahead of its first anniversary, giving players a chance to try the full game without buying it first. The free period will run from October 8 at 11:00 CEST until October 12 at 10:00 CEST on Steam.

This is not a limited demo. Players will get access to the full ARC Raiders game during the event, so they can team up with friends, fight ARC machines, collect loot, and try to make it out alive.

Frozen Trail Update Adds New Content

The free play event arrives alongside Frozen Trail, which the developers describe as the biggest update for ARC Raiders since launch.
The update takes players toward the icy Pendola Pass, where a new threat has emerged in the Rust Belt. Frozen Trail adds several pieces of new content, including a new map and new ARC enemies.
One of the biggest additions is the ARC Frigate, a large new ARC threat that players will have to deal with while exploring the updated environment.
The update also adds the Redirection map condition, giving players another environmental change to deal with during their runs.

New Weapons, Gadgets and Progression Changes

Frozen Trail isn’t limited to the new location and enemies. The update also brings new weapons and gadgets, along with Weapon Amplification.
Player progression is getting some changes as well. The skill tree has been reworked, while a new Reward Pass system gives players another way to progress through the game.
Players will also be able to customize their Raider Outposts, adding another layer of personalization outside regular runs.
