SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed is now available on PC and consoles, giving fans of the original SpeedRunners a new set of tracks, runners, and multiplayer races to mess around with.
The sequel launched on September 3 and supports both online and local multiplayer. If you have friends around, you can play together locally, while online matches support up to eight players. Crossplay is also included, so PC and console players can race against each other.
SpeedRunners 2 Has 8 Maps and 12 Playable Characters
There are eight maps in SpeedRunners 2, and each one has two different layouts. That gives players different track setups to learn instead of running through the exact same layout every time.
The game has 12 playable characters as well. The roster includes brand-new runners alongside some familiar characters from the original SpeedRunners.
The races still revolve around moving quickly through the map while using the game’s movement tools and pick-ups to get ahead. Grappling hooks and power-ups can help players keep their speed up, while falling behind can put you in danger as the race closes in.
10 Pick-Ups Are Available
SpeedRunners 2 has 10 pick-ups in total. Eight of them return from the first game, while two are new additions.
These pick-ups can change what happens during a race, giving players ways to slow down opponents or create an opening when someone starts getting too far ahead. Knowing when to use them can be just as important as knowing the track.
Players can also choose between Quick Play and Ranked. Quick Play is there for regular matches, while Ranked is aimed at players who want a more competitive setup.
Local Multiplayer, Online Matches, and 64-Player Tournaments
Multiplayer is a major part of SpeedRunners 2, but you don’t have to immediately jump into matches against other players. Bots are available for practice, which gives you a chance to learn the maps and get comfortable with the movement.
For bigger competitions, the game also supports tournaments with up to 64 players. That is quite a jump from a normal eight-player race and gives the game another multiplayer option for organized matches.
There’s also a single-player story campaign for players who would rather play on their own.
SpeedRunners 2 Is Out Now
SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed launched on September 3, 2026, and is available on PC and consoles. The game supports PC-console crossplay, so players on different platforms can join the same races.
The sequel also comes with upgraded visuals and netcode, along with unlockable costumes and profile decorations.
A 10% launch discount is currently available on Steam, giving players a cheaper way to pick up the game during its launch period.
