Masquerada: Songs and Shadows is a tactical RPG set in the magical city of Citte della Ombre, inspired by the Renaissance era. In this world, special Venetian-style masks give people the power to control elements and cast magic.

The city is divided between different groups, with powerful guilds fighting over control, using the Mascherines—masks that give them magical abilities.
In Citte della Ombre, religion has no power, and only a person’s actions and stories can keep their name alive after death. The rich and powerful, known as Masquerada, do everything they can to protect their status, while the poor Contadani struggle for freedom.
This conflict has led to a long civil war, where the Contadani rebels steal Mascherines to gain power. In the middle of this chaos, a famous detective, Cicero Gavar, who was exiled five years ago, is called back to investigate the kidnapping of diplomat Razitof Azrus.
