You play as Richard Nolan, a bold investigative journalist known for criticizing the blind acceptance of technology. After surviving a mysterious explosion, Richard wakes up in a hospital only to find his wife and son missing. His quest to uncover the truth leads him into a massive conspiracy—one that reveals a hidden war between the flawed real world and City 5, a seemingly perfect virtual utopia designed to offer humanity an escape from suffering.
As the lines between memory, simulation, and identity blur, Richard must confront not only the dark truths of the world around him but also himself. Along the way, players also control other characters, each offering unique perspectives on the mystery and moral dilemmas at hand.
