Get ready to catch some unique Pokémon! Niantic has unveiled new featured Pokémon for Pokémon GO’s Wild Area event, including a stylish Snorlax wearing a studded jacket, along with the return of Pikachu Pop Star and Rock Star.
Max Out Season Continues to Thrill
Since its launch in September, Pokémon GO’s Max Out season has brought a steady stream of thrilling events to the popular mobile game. From Dynamax-focused experiences to highly anticipated Pokémon debuts, trainers have been treated to non-stop excitement. The momentum shows no signs of slowing down, as Niantic has announced another upcoming event for next month, introducing even more unique Pokémon variants to the game’s extensive roster.
Wild Area Event Details
Niantic has shared more thrilling updates about the upcoming Pokémon GO Wild Area event. Headlining the reveals is a stylish, debutant Snorlax donning a sleek black studded jacket. This fashionable Pokémon will be available:
1. In the wild exclusively during the Pokémon GO Wild Area: Fukuoka event
2. In 3-star raids for participants in the Global event
For lucky trainers, a shiny variant of this unique Snorlax will also be up for grabs.
Pikachu Pop Star and Rock Star Return
Fan-favorite Pikachu variants, Pop Star and Rock Star, make their highly anticipated return to the game, following their last appearance during GO Fest 2021. For the first time, trainers will also have the chance to catch shiny versions of these musical Pikachu, although it will require quite a bit of luck – the odds of encountering a shiny Pop Star or Rock Star Pikachu are 1 in 512. To add these elusive Pikachu to their collection, players can:
1. Complete Special Research tasks
2. Participate in Collection Challenges
3. Utilize the GO Snapshot feature
Mixed Reactions from Players
While many are thrilled to catch the new Pokémon, others have expressed disappointment over uneven availability. Specifically, global event participants feel that the studded jacket Snorlax should be available in the wild, rather than being limited to challenging 3-star raids. Furthermore, making Pop Star and Rock Star Pikachu exclusive to ticket holders has left many players feeling frustrated and excluded.
Event Schedule
The Pokémon GO Wild Area event is scheduled to take place on November 23 and 24, 2024. Despite the mixed reactions, trainers are eagerly anticipating the event and the chance to add these unique Pokémon to their collection.
