Reports suggest that a former Rockstar developer has leaked some very early, development-phase gameplay from GTA 6, potentially offering glimpses of new mechanics. Few games in gaming history have generated as much hype as Grand Theft Auto 6, and it remains one of the most discussed and eagerly awaited titles. The anticipation around GTA 6 has grown to such an extent that it has become a phenomenon in its own right, especially since fans have been waiting for over a decade — with its November 2026 launch date arriving 12 years after GTA 5. Even so, fans are eagerly watching every new gameplay clip that surfaces.
When Rockstar officially revealed Grand Theft Auto 6 in December 2023, fans worldwide were stunned, and the trailer quickly broke YouTube records. The announcement finally confirmed long-standing rumors, including the franchise’s return to Vice City in the HD era — a location that hadn’t appeared in a new game since 2007’s Vice City Stories. Rockstar also teased several key characters, including leads Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval. Now, newly leaked early gameplay footage from GTA 6 has begun circulating online.
From a demo reel by a former, unnamed Rockstar developer, very early GTA 6 gameplay clips have leaked. One clip shows a temporary character interacting with what appears to be a bike rental station, featuring animations for getting on and off a bicycle. Another clip shows GTA 6’s main character, Lucia, jumping down from the roof of a moving truck, with the animations suggesting that players may even be able to ride in the back of pickup trucks. The leaked reel also includes animations from Red Dead Redemption 2, as well as development footage from GTA 5 and Max Payne 3, highlighting Rockstar’s development process.
The newly leaked GTA 6 clips also hint at gameplay features that may be included when the game launches in 2026. Grand Theft Auto 6 appears set to reintroduce bicycle rental stands previously seen in GTA 5, allowing players temporary access to bikes. The animations also suggest upgrades for pickup trucks, possibly allowing multiple players to ride together in the back cargo area. As of now, GTA 6 is expected to release on November 19, 2026.
GTA 6 seems set to introduce a wide range of new gameplay systems as the series makes its long-awaited return to Vice City. Reports suggest that this version of Vice City will feature richer, more interactive environments than previous games, including many more explorable interior locations. Rockstar is also expected to expand the variety of activities in the Florida-inspired city, building on GTA 5’s mini-games and adding new experiences such as hunting and scuba diving. Rumors also indicate that GTA 6 may include an improved combat cover system, likely inspired by mechanics from Red Dead Redemption 2.
Although players still have some time to wait for GTA 6’s official release, the excitement around the game continues to grow. The Game Awards recently nominated GTA 6 for “Most Anticipated Game” for the second consecutive year, after the title had already won the award last year. This recognition came just weeks after Rockstar confirmed yet another delay, moving the expected launch date from May 26 to November 2026. With hype building and early gameplay clips appearing online, fans may not have to wait much longer for more updates from Rockstar about GTA 6.
