If you haven’t played Final Fantasy 14 for a long time, now is the perfect chance to return. Square Enix has launched a limited-time free login campaign that allows inactive players to enjoy the game for a few days without an active subscription. This offer gives players a chance to experience the latest updates and content.
The free login campaign is available for players whose subscriptions have been inactive for at least one month. Once a player logs into the game through the launcher, a 96-hour free play window begins. During this time, players can experience Patch 7.4, including the main story and Arcadion raid updates. This offer must be claimed before Monday, February 9, at 9:59 AM Eastern Time. After the free period ends, players can continue their journey by renewing their subscription through the Mog Station, with plans starting at $12.99 per month.
Alongside the free login campaign, the annual Heavensturn event is currently live until January 15. Inspired by the Lunar New Year, this year’s event is based on the Year of the Horse. Players level 15 and above can earn the Uma-no-Unicolt minion by completing a short quest in Limsa Lominsa. These seasonal quests are quick and usually take around 15 to 30 minutes to finish.

Looking ahead, Final Fantasy 14 has several updates planned for 2026. Patch 7.41 is expected to launch soon, bringing updates to Cosmic Exploration, Cosmic Tools, and Phantom Weapon features. Players will explore a new rocky planet called Oizys, with fresh rewards for crafters and gatherers. After that, Patch 7.45 will introduce the next chapter of Dawntrail’s Hildibrand adventures and a new Variant and Criterion Dungeon. Following the North American FanFest, Patch 7.5 is expected to arrive as the final major Dawntrail update. With the next expansion already being prepared, it remains to be seen how the story will evolve and how many players will renew their subscriptions after experiencing the latest content.
