A major update related to Diablo 4’s upcoming Lord of Hatred expansion has surfaced, as an alleged map of the new region Skovos has reportedly leaked online. A newly shared image is circulating that appears to show the in-game layout of Skovos for the first time. Blizzard has already confirmed that the expansion will take players to Skovos, but no official map details have been revealed so far.
The authenticity of this leaked map has not been confirmed, but it closely aligns with previously shared information about the expansion, which is why many fans are taking it seriously.
According to Diablo lore, Skovos is a highly important location in the world of Sanctuary. It is believed to be the place where Lilith and Inarius created the nephalem, who later became humanity. Skovos is known for its ancient traditions and the Askari civilization, from which the iconic Amazon class in Diablo 2 originated. Despite its significance, Skovos has never appeared as a playable region in the Diablo series, fueling fan speculation.
The leak was highlighted by Reddit user SheWhoHates, who pointed out an article from the German gaming website GameStar that includes an image believed to be Skovos’ in-game map. While the article discusses publicly known expansion details, the map image appears to be new. A reverse image search shows no other sources, leaving its authenticity uncertain.
However, the leaked map closely resembles the map shown on the official Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred page for the War Plans mechanic. A comparison of both layouts shows they are nearly identical, adding some credibility to the leak. Still, until Blizzard officially confirms it, the map should be treated as unverified.
The leaked image divides Skovos into seven sub-regions: Philios, Temis, Lycander, Athulua, Atanos, Celestia, and Skartara. Previous Sanctuary maps only included Philios, Lycander, and Skartara as islands, but this new version adds more locations, suggesting a redesigned region created specifically for Lord of Hatred.
There is still a possibility that the map is fan-made, as it significantly differs from earlier canon descriptions. According to The Book of Lorath, Skovos consisted of separate islands, while the leaked image shows it as one large interconnected landmass. If real, this would represent a major shift in Diablo lore.
While Blizzard has shared a fair amount of information about the Lord of Hatred DLC, details about Skovos’ full map and the mysterious second playable class remain secret. Since the expansion’s reveal at The Game Awards 2025 and the Paladin class release in Season 11, little new information has emerged. With the April 28 launch date approaching, fans can expect more announcements soon.
