Stranger Things is returning once again to Dead by Daylight, and this time the update is set to be even more terrifying. Behaviour Interactive has shared new details about the upcoming chapter, introducing new Survivors along with the series’ most frightening villain, Vecna. The connection between Dead by Daylight and Stranger Things has always been strong, and this crossover is now moving into its next phase.
Netflix’s popular horror series Stranger Things released its season 5 finale on December 31, bringing an end to the show that began in 2016. While the series has concluded, fans can continue the experience through Dead by Daylight. An update arriving near the end of January will allow players to face Vecna directly or unleash his terrifying powers on Survivors.
The second Stranger Things crossover in Dead by Daylight was first announced in late November, but details were limited at the time. Developers have now confirmed that the update will launch on January 27, along with a new trailer. Through this DLC, players will be able to control Henry Creel, known in-game as The First and widely recognized by fans as Vecna.
As the newest Killer, Vecna has the ability to bend the world around him. Using the power of the Upside Down, he can emerge from the ground to surprise Survivors and attack without warning. He can also trap players using his signature vines and apply special curses that distort reality, making escape far more difficult.
The update also introduces two new Survivors, Eleven and Dustin, both long-time fan favorites. Eleven’s inclusion is especially interesting due to her powerful psychic abilities in the show. According to developers, Dustin’s clever resourcefulness and Eleven’s powers have been carefully balanced to fit the game’s mechanics.
In addition, new cosmetic skins will bring Robin Buckley and Eddie Munson into the game. The original crossover featured Nancy Wheeler, Steve Harrington, and the Demogorgon. With the new skins, players can now form a full Stranger Things Survivor team to face Vecna or other deadly Killers within The Fog.
