ARC Raiders players have been frustrated for weeks due to a growing cheating problem in the game. Now, Embark Studios has finally spoken out and confirmed that it is taking the issue very seriously. In its latest statement, the studio said major changes will be made to ARC Raiders’ rules and anti-cheat systems over the coming weeks to tackle cheaters and hackers.
Cheating has become a common problem in live service games like ARC Raiders, Call of Duty, and Battlefield. Developers constantly work to improve security, and some studios have even created their own anti-cheat systems. However, these systems often face criticism, especially kernel-level anti-cheat solutions that require deep system access. Developers must carefully balance security and player trust.
ARC Raiders gained massive popularity after its launch last October, which also attracted cheat makers. During Embark Studios’ Christmas break, players grew more concerned due to the lack of updates. Now, the studio has confirmed on the official ARC Raiders Discord that it is fully aware of the cheating discussions and has started working on solutions.
According to Embark, new detection systems will be rolled out in the coming weeks to identify and remove cheaters more effectively. Anti-cheat tools will also be upgraded to improve bans. The studio also addressed the long-standing out-of-bounds glitch, confirming that client-side fixes are on the way.
Embark also plans to introduce special tools for streamers to reduce stream sniping. Popular creators like Shroud and TimTheTatMan have previously criticized the game’s lack of control over cheaters. Shroud even warned that major streamers could leave if the issue is not resolved soon.
With the new year underway, Embark Studios appears to be back at full strength. The developer has also announced upcoming balance changes, including nerfs to the Trigger Nade and Stitcher, and plans to stop players abusing macros to increase weapon fire rates. While the patch release date is not confirmed, Embark stated that updates will now arrive on Tuesdays, making January 13 a possible release for the first 2026 update.
