9 Years of Shadows is a side-scrolling Metroidvania game developed by Halberd Studios. In this game, you play as Europa, a brave warrior, who, along with her ghostly childhood companion Apino, enters the mechanical fortress of Talos. Corruption has spread throughout Talos, and the world is being swallowed in darkness, so Europa’s goal is to stop this corruption and bring the colors back.

Throughout the game, you battle tainted creatures and uncover the ancient civilizations that have settled within Talos. At every step, Apino, a cute floating bear, helps you with his magical powers to cleanse the corruption and restore health.

Game Features:

In the game, you explore Talos, fighting against corruption.
Apino, a floating bear, assists you with various projectiles like fists, blasts, and cyclones to attack.
You can use elements to your advantage, like harnessing lightning, water, earth, and fire to unlock new powers and special abilities.
Changing armors grants you new abilities, like swimming against waterfalls, traveling through underground tunnels, and gliding through warm air currents.
In boss fights, you need to switch armors and use halberd combos to exploit enemy weaknesses.
Music is the soul of the game, featuring compositions by famous composers like Miguel Hasson and Michiru Yamane.
To combine gameplay and storytelling, you collect musical notes that help restore your health.
The health system is challenging, with a shield that refills as you defeat enemies, and you need to recharge it quickly when it runs out.

Installation Instructions
