  • Explore the mysteries of Destiny 2's Ascendant Plane as players stumble upon secrets hidden beneath the Dreaming City's surface.

A player in Destiny 2 made a mistake during a jump but found a cool way to reach a hidden area in The Dreaming City. This city is part of Destiny 2, and Bungie keeps adding new places and quests to the game each year.

In June 2024, Destiny 2 will get a new expansion called The Final Shape. Before that, Bungie released the Into The Light update to lead into this new chapter. While many players are excited about what’s next for Destiny 2, one player accidentally went back in time because of a jump at the wrong moment.

A Reddit user named CdnSasquatch shared a strange discovery in Destiny 2’s Dreaming City. In the video, the Guardian character starts in the Spine of Keres area and then jumps off to the right side of a bridge. This causes the player to fall into a black misty area outside the normal boundaries of the game. This area is part of the Ascendant Plane, where special events happened in past seasons of Destiny 2. In CdnSasquatch’s video, there are no enemies and no loot, but you can explore this spooky out-of-bounds area with some clever jumping.

The post has received 3,000 upvotes so far, and people are talking about how cool the discovery is. This area of the Ascendant Plane hasn’t been available for a while because Bungie closed it off before The Witch Queen expansion in 2022. Instead of taking it out of Destiny 2 completely, Bungie hid the map under the Dreaming City and made it so players couldn’t get to it. Some players say you can find other Ascendant Plane maps by jumping off the Dreaming City and falling in certain places.

Since players can’t reach this area naturally in the game, it makes you wonder why it’s still there. Maybe it’s because removing it completely would be harder for the developers than just keeping it hidden. Besides, Bungie has been busy with the Into The Light update and adding a new Onslaught mode to Destiny 2, which would have taken a lot of work.

We’ll have to wait and see if Bungie has any plans for this hidden area before The Final Shape expansion in June 2024. This expansion is expected to bring a big conclusion to the Light and Dark storyline, with Guardians facing off against The Witness. It’s also a chance for old favorite characters to come back and for players to use new powers with the Prismatic Subclass.
