College Football 26 has received a lot of love from fans since its release. But like most games, it also came with some small issues. That’s why EA Sports released the first update (version 1.004.000) on July 15 to fix some of those problems.
The game officially launched on July 10, but players who bought the Deluxe or MVP edition got access as early as July 7.
What’s Been Fixed in the Update?
EA Sports hasn’t shared the full patch list yet, but they did talk about the main problems players were facing:

What EA Sports Says They’re Fixing
On July 11, EA Sports shared a post explaining the main issues they’re working on:
Field Goals:
Sometimes, players couldn’t kick a field goal if the kicker was left-footed and the kick was about to be blocked. EA confirmed this bug and said it’s being fixed.
Ball Snap:
Players said they couldn’t snap the ball after pressing a certain combination of buttons (RT/R2 + right stick up). EA suggested pressing B/Circle repeatedly or using another pass protection option as a temporary fix.
Stiff Arms:
The stiff arm move was too strong. EA recommended that defensive players flick the right stick down to perform a “cut stick” move that tackles the ball carrier’s legs. A better fix is coming in a future update.
Pass Protection:
Many players were unhappy with how their offensive line was performing. EA explained that the system has been revamped and players need some time to adjust to the changes.
Road to Glory Mode Also Updated
For those who play as Cornerbacks or MIKE linebackers, the grading system has been updated:

Road to Glory Fixes:
Gameplay Was the Main Focus
The update mostly focused on improving gameplay. Many videos on social media had shown bugs and glitches, especially with ball snapping and stiff arms. EA was quick to respond and started fixing these problems.
Making MIKE and Cornerback More Fun to Play
Most people usually play as a Quarterback in Road to Glory mode. But this update makes MIKE linebacker and Cornerback roles more fun and rewarding. These positions now feel more important and exciting.
Final Words
This first update solves many small issues in College Football 26, but it’s just the beginning. EA Sports promised more updates soon, including a detailed Campus Huddle article with more info.
